Author Guidelines
Guide for Authors
Before submitting a manuscript, authors are required to complete the Copyright/Originality Form and a Cover Letter (available in the JAPRI document template). The forms can be downloaded from our website and must be included in the manuscript submission file.
1. Manuscript Preparation
| 1. | Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word. |
| 2. | Font: Times New Roman, size 10 pt, justified alignment, line spacing 1.2. |
| 3. | Chemical structures should be created with Chemdraw. Photos/images must be in JPG/JPEG format. Graphs may be created using Excel. |
| 4. | Figures and tables must be submitted separately from the main text. |
2. Figures and Tables
| 1. | Figures (including graphics) must be provided as separate files. The title is written below the figure in Arabic numerical order. |
| 2. | Tables must fit on a single page. The title is written above the table in Arabic numerical order. |
3. Manuscript Structure
| a. | Title: Written in Title Case, bold, maximum 18 words. |
| b. | Author Names: Written without academic titles. First names capitalized only on the initial letter, last names in uppercase. Complete institutional affiliations required. Corresponding author marked with * including email. |
| c. | Abstract: 200–250 words, structured (Background, Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion) with 1–5 keywords in alphabetical order. |
| d. | Background: Research context and objectives. |
| e. | Materials and Methods: Include materials (origin, qualifications), tools (name, brand, specifications), and methods (procedures). Ethical clearance required for human/animal studies. |
| f. | Results and Discussion: Present findings with interpretation, supported by tables/figures, and compare with literature. |
| g. | Conclusion: Concise summary and recommendations. |
| h. | Acknowledgments: Recognize contributors, institutions, or funding agencies. |
| i. | Bibliography: At least 80% from peer-reviewed journals in the last 5 years. Use reference manager (Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero). |
4. Citation and References
| 1. | In-text citations follow the Author-Year style, e.g. (Syahrani et al., 1997). |
| 2. | If more than two authors: use et al. in English or dkk. in Indonesian. |
| 3. | References must be arranged alphabetically by the first author’s last name. |

5. Abbreviations
The use of abbreviations is discouraged except for standard measurement units (g, mg, mL, kg, cm, etc.). Non-standard abbreviations must be defined on first use in the abstract and again in the text, figures, or tables where they appear.
6. Review and Revision
All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed, corrected, and returned to authors with notes. Authors must resubmit corrected versions in both file and (if requested) print format.
7. Author’s Copy
Authors will receive a copy of the published manuscript.
8. Scope of Submission
JAPRI accepts manuscripts based on research, surveys, and literature reviews relevant to pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and healthcare innovation. The journal is published twice a year (July and December). Submissions must be made through the JAPRI Open Journal System (OJS).
